Aug 08, 2014 · I am using VMware Player to run a virtual machine on my desktop, and have successfully created one from a VHD file that contains a system disk image. I now wish to add a data disk image that is a VHDX file - it is too large for a VHD image - but VMware Player does not recognise this. Does anyone know if VMware Player Plus will accept such an image?

Jan 21, 2014 · Virtual PC supports a maximum virtual disk size of 127GB. If you create a VHD from a larger disk it will not be accessible from a Virtual PC VM. To use VHDs produced by Disk2vhd, create a VM with the desired characteristics and add the VHDs to the VM's configuration as IDE disks.
