Aug 06, 2010 · An unsigned driver was trying to install, and I clicked Continue Anyway. This began to look very familiar to me. The process started again as before: Found new Hardware, Canon MF5770, Continue Anyway, Notice: installed, but not working properly, Finish. The same process occurred with USB Printing Support. Any other suggestions? Thanks again!

If you have previously installed any other USB printer drivers these may have hijacked USB Printing Support or set up an incompatible USB printing port. Remove all your other print drivers first, run the system file checker (sfc) posted above, and then install only the Seiko drivers before restarting and then connecting the USB cable.

Regarding Windows 8 "Unspecified Device" errors - Run the Driver setup.exe logged in as admin using Windows 7 compatibility mode, and preinstall the driver. Then uninstall USB printing support from the device manager, and then scan for hardware changes. See if the printer is installed correctly.

Apr 10, 2017 · First disconnect the USB cord for the printer from the computer, then expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers field and find any USB Printing Support entries that are greyed out. If this is the only printer, this should be easy. Right click on the one that is greyed out and click Uninstall Device, then click uninstall.
