A BIOS system can boot only from an MBR disk and not GPT, which is why you can't take an OS disk from a BIOS system and put it in a UEFI system and expect the system to boot. Apr 07, 2016 · Well, if you use a Linux ISO (that has UEFI support), Rufus will display "for BIOS or UEFI" and NOT "for BIOS or UEFI-CSM", as it does with Windows ISO, which is its way of telling you that your drive can be booted in both BIOS/UEFI-CSM AND pure UEFI mode.
