    Plain and simple. The input avi is 15 fps. The default for output is to keep the fps. But MPEG1 does not support 15 fps. Not a question of implementation, simply of what the standard accepts. Try ffmpeg -i input.avi -vcodec mpeg1video -r 15 output.mpg

    May 28, 2006 · [mpeg2video @ 009DFB78]MPEG1/2 does not support 2997/125 fps 125 Frames per second is far in excess for MPG1 or MPG2, max allowed 30. 2997 Bitrate Kbps is also wrong: It's additions/subtractions of 48.
