I have been trying to get Wi-Fi to work on Ubuntu 14.04 (I just don't and can't get ethernet) I have been trying too follow the guidline here: ubuntu 14.04 connect to a wifi network using command line but it wouldn't scan because it said "Interface doesn't support scanning".

May 22, 2015 · Please post the commands you used to determine that wlan0 doesn't support scanning, along with any additional output those commands output. Also, please tell us what hardware you're using (is this an integrated network device, or a USB dongle, etc., what is the make and model?)

Mar 09, 2018 · i can now scan networks with sudo iwlist wlan0 scanning after cutting power to the router. however the icon in the pannel that shows connection status ("Wireless & Wired Network Settings") doesn't show networks anymore. Also the pi doesn't automatically reconnect when the router comes back on. What's with that? What I could do however was

I have a wireless-N card from Ralink. On the chip I can read the number "RT3062f". I'm running Ubuntu 11.10. On a fresh Ubuntu install, the card is recognized, but does not detect any signals (which is unlikely since it sits next to the router, and all my other device connect just fine).
