For some years Btrfs is used by default on openSuse; Ubuntu already offers a decent default support on Btrfs: create the subvolves of the root and home. I’ve been using Btrfs on the Ubuntu desktop for several years (if not badly mentioned by Ubuntu 12.04) without any problem, in fact, I’m very helpful thanks, especially to the snapshots.
