As the MQ Manager will use the domain AD to lookup the certificate and queue details, it raises an exception as the format name is invalid (not the same as specified in the AD). So instead of using the direct format, use the queue ID to define the formatname.

If this has never worked, then it could be one of several other issues, but as stated here, remote reads are "not part of the optimal messaging model", ie the optimal paradigm adopted for MSMQ is send-remote, read-local. Consider changing your architecture not to use remote reads.

In the meantime, If I use the local node machine name w2k8clusternd1, GetPrivateWueuesByMachine lists all the queues on the local MSMQ fine.
