I'm having a strange problem this morning. I'm trying to cd into the "Application Support" directory on my Mac, using the following command:. cd '~/Library/Application Support' Unfortunately, this does not seem to be working as expected and I get this message:

Sep 30, 2011 · My question might not be clear....trying to get to Application Support folder using terminal and it won't let me. That's because 'Application Support' contains a space in its name, and the shell treats spaces as argument delimiters - in other words it thinks you're asking to 'cd Applications', which is doomed to failure.

Jul 08, 2016 · Next I use the command "cd" followed by a space and the name of the next folder or subfolder I would like to go into next. It all worked fine till I came to a folder I called "Russian Project". When I type "cd Russian Project" I am told by terminal that "-bash: cd: Russian: No such file or directory". This is simply not true.

The dragging/dropping also works when you simply want to cd into a new directory and Terminal is not recognizing it for some reason. I just did cd {dragged folder into Terminal} and it printed the full path name, which then worked to change into that directory.
