Mar 01, 2010 · Re: Temporary support for roof Creating a point of support a foot or two back on the bottom chord of a truss is not going to do you any good, and may do you harm. You could wind up overstressing the chord. You need to shore right against the wall to putt the load into the chord intersections, where the truss is designed to be load bearing.
