Sep 24, 2015 · For some reason I found out my account didn't have administrator privileges, so I went into safe mode to try and fix things. Nov 12, 2019 · This is expected behavior because the system is using hybrid shutdown (also known as "fast startup") during Audit mode. Hybrid shutdown were introduced in Windows 8. In Audit mode, the administrator account is enabled immediately before logoff and disabled immediately after logon.

There has never been a question about who is in control of the system and that support would be offered. “Tech support mode”, should be fully supported. It should be allowed and endorsed by VMware and granted to ESX admins without a second thought.
