failed dependencies : libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.0) What should i do, i checked glibc is already there on my system and the library libc.so.6 is in the /lib folder maybe it is unable to get the path.. Thanks, AMit.

Hey Judith, I don't think Red Hat Linux has glibc 2.27. To reproduce the issues mentioned in the OP you will need a system which has both GCC 7+ (for the FloatX type problem) and glibc 2.27+ (for both the FloatX problem and the VERSION_TYPE problem).

To be honest, once I saw glibc dependency problem with gmake I stopped investigating using CCS 6.2.0 with the CentOS 6.8 system (and moved to using CCS 6.2.0 on Windows). i.e. didn't check if there are any other programs in CCS 6.2.0 with a glibc dependency problem on CentOS 6.8..

glibc 2.5 was released 2006-09-29. glibc 2.23 was released 2016-02-19. glibc 2.27 was released 2018-02-01. The last one above (2.27) is the latest release and is present in 18.04 Bionic Beaver. As Knud Larsen has pointed out, glibc-2.5 is a very old version, and thus installing it as a default on a 16.04 would result in a completely broken system.
