Aug 31, 2012 · Hello ppl., I have a registered genuine Wondows XP Home edition CD and I would like to upgrade that to genuine Windows XP professional edition. I'm not able to find such deal. I'm wondering if microsoft offers such deal in which I can return my Home CD and license as well to upgrade to a Windows XP professional.

It is not considered a good idea to have only the minimums hardware as listed in the article, Windows XP Professional System Requirements. If you are close to the minimum hardware listed, you should pass on Windows XP. I have seen it suggested that only computers manufactured since January 1, 2000 should be considered for Windows XP.
