Mar 31, 2012 · I have windows XP x64 with firefox ver11 and explorer 9, The latest silverlight update (ver6) gives the above message, which is false seeing as how I own a 64bit operating system with service pack2 (the latest update for X64) and previous versions of silverlight installed itself by default in the X86 program files directory.

Feb 11, 2012 · Silverlight does NOT support Windows 7 using 64 bit systems. I have tried everything including the complete removal of Silverlight from my system and a clean reinstall. The Silverlight webpage clearly states the program does NOT support 64 bit systems.

thanks jscher2000. that worked. for some reason Firefox was not letting me see a link to the 32 bit version of Silverlight. I has to use IE to get to the 32 bit Silverlight download.
