Support verb constructions (Gross, 1981) (hereafter SVCs) or light verb constructions are a kind of collocations for which: a) the verb is semantically weak and has a very general meaning (to take a walk, to have a shower). b) the predicate is supported by the noun which selects the seman-tic arguments.
