The Dell Windows 10 touchpad driver for my Inspiron 3541 would install "successfully" but not actually get used by Windows and the touchpad had only minimal functionality. I called Dell support who wanted to charge me for software support for their obviously incomplete Windows 10 support. Very sad. So I found a workaround:

Aug 16, 2015 · Synaptics ps/2 touchpad. Scrolling works on old type windows programs, including office and IE, but doesn't work on Edge browser and Apps. The driver is a version 9.x, but when I try to update drivers, says it's the most current. I tried downloading newer drivers from Synaptics and Lenovo, but they didn't work at all. This is 32 bit version Win 10.
