Apr 01, 2010 · Yes, this kit says it is for a socket 478 mount, but the backplate included for Socket 939 motherboards will work with any Socket 939 hsfu. There are kits from the same vendor that include top side hardware that works with Socket 939 heatsink/fan units, but I believe this one is cheaper.

Dec 11, 2014 · After doing some research at cpu-world.com, it seems there are no Socket 939 CPUs with that instruction set; however, I am not sure if that database is comprehensive or 100% accurate. Assuming the price is reasonable, I'd be willing to swap out the processors to something that support CMPXCHG16b, if it exists.
