2009-10-20 · I am newly installing NTFS-3G on my system running Snow Leopard. After rebooting there is no NTFS option for formatting in Disk Utility. Only the standard Mac default options and FAT. 2009-9-7 · A developer build of Snow Leopard had NTFS read/write access out of the box. Not sure why Apple removed it. I always have problems when writing onto NTFS hard drives. As pointed out by Matt, installing Snow Leopard on the Late 2011 MacBook Pro is not officially supported by Apple, so there's no guarantee it will work. If you really need to be able to run Snow Leopard, you may be better off buying an older MacBook Pro; either second-hand or a refurbished one directly from Apple.
