I've ensured the rendered="" value between the two are always mutually exclusive. But only the first <a4j:support> is ever recognized by Seam (the second isn't added to the component tree even if the rendered attribute is true).

Of course you could update your web application to JSF 2 and RichFaces 4 or PrimeFaces but it’s neither trivial nor free. The issue with RichFaces 3.3.3 still stands, development has moved to 4.x version and they’ve dropped support for the older versions although at least IE issues could be easily fixed.

Jun 23, 2008 · It was cut and paste. I actually use value="#{emailBean.ccMe}" instead of value Change listener. I saw the value has changed in the emailBean but the server call is called first (a4j: support) before it sets the value of emailBean.ccMe.
