Now in regards to the controller questions, the SAS 6/ir controller BIOS isn't accessible with the Ctrl-R command, but instead is a Ctrl-C. Also the SAS6/ir will only support Raid levels 0 and 1, and the question of the Perc controller is really if you are basing your decision on that of workload or money. Let me know if this helps.

Aug 07, 2009 · Dell SAS 6iR is a raid controller which supports raid level 0 and 1. ESX 4.0 does support SAS 6iR. but before doing upgrade its better to check in their support site if this is in a production environment.
