Apr 11, 2013 · A. In the past the maximum supported file length was 260 characters (256 usable after the drive characters and termination character). In Windows 10 long file name support can be enabled which allows file names up to 32,767 characters (although you lose a few characters for mandatory characters that are part of the name).

Oct 09, 2016 · I am using Robocopy for the first time in a long time again. The reason is we are de-commissioning an old 2003 server that is still in use and we need to migrate all the data to a 2012 server (also from one domain to another).

Apr 26, 2010 · Using the robocopy command with Windows OS directory path name? I like to use the robocopy as a backup files in "MY Document" in windows XP. I found out due to the long directory name eg. c:\documents and Settings\IBMs users\, the robocopy does not work.
