Mar 27, 2006 · reiserfs support. recently installed VectorLinux on a reiserfs partition. But i am not able to mount this under RHEL. The kernel it seems is not compiled with reiserfs support. is there a solution without a kernel recompile? The previous post suggest a kernel recompile.

Sep 23, 2002 · I grabbed the quota patches from namesys.com and applied them to the Gentoo-2.4.19-r9 kernel sources. enable quota in fstab eg, /dev/sda6 /tmp reiserfs noatime,noexec,nosuid,usrquota,grpqouta 0 0 After rebooting, running quotacheck -avug and quotaon will indicate that quota is enabled and running.

The first option (-r) gives you the ability to set quota on a remote system, if rpc.quotad is enabled. Second you have the option to set the quota for a user (-u) or group (-g), and provide the quota format (-F) to use. These are all standard options which are available to most quota commands.
