The Raiding Support Regiment (RSR) was a British Army regiment that was created in mid 1943 to support raiding forces that were operating during the Second World War in Albania, Yugoslavia, Greece, and various islands in the Aegean Sea.

The Raiding Support Regiment was formed in mid-1943 from men from the SBS, LRDG and Greek Sacred Squadron. Its role was to support raiding forces and bring heavy weapons to the partisan groups in Greece, Yugoslavia and Albania. By October 1943 it had acquired Regimental status and fielded no less than five batteries of support weapons.

This was a composite brigade, other units belonging to it were the 111th Field Artillery Battery, they were armed with 25 pounders, an anti-aircraft Battery with 3.7 anti-aircraft guns. However, these guns were used solely as field artillery and anti-tank weapons.

Gunner George Molloy (3608193) enlisted in the Border Regiment, he was transferred to the Royal Artillery on 27 November 1942. In October 1944 he served with Raiding Supporting Regiment. He spent most oh is service in the Middle East and Mediterranean theatre and was discharged 7 Spetember 1945.

Feb 14, 2013 · I am seeking information on an acting Captain in the Raiding Support Regiment named Lionel Mosseri. His commanding officer was Sir Thomas Devitt. He served in the Middle East Raiding Force and died in Alsace in 1944. In particular, I would like to know if he was decorated. Thank you.

Jun 09, 2017 · His name is Major Desmond Ross he was in the Royal Artillery but I do not know what regiment he was in. He served in the Raiding Support Regiment (RSR) in the second world war and was awarded the Military Cross whilst a Capitan in that Regiment in the Adriatic 44-45. He also has a set of RAF flying wings on his uniform.
