Unified Video Decoder (UVD), previously called Universal Video Decoder, is the name given to AMD's dedicated video decoding ASIC. There are multiple versions implementing a multitude of video codecs, such as H.264 and VC-1. UVD was introduced with the Radeon HD 2000 Series and is integrated into some of the AMD GPUs and APUs.

Jun 07, 2018 · It seems that even after 4 months of stuck in UVD feature on 1st gen GCN cards, amd is unaware of it. My guess is that AMD support treats word UVD within tickets as spam. This issue does not hit me personally but others maybe need fixes from newer drivers.Reviews: 37
