Jan 26, 2009 · All it means is your monitor/tv is capable of displaying 1680x1050 pixels (or 1,764,000). That's less than 1920x1080 but still a very large resolution.

Apr 08, 2014 · Max resolution of that monitor is 1680x1050. It could be the PS3 only supports SD, 720p and 1080p. 1080p is "out of range" for that monitor, thus no signal is displayed. Use your SD tv to set the PS3 to 720p (you'll get no image on the SD tv), then connect it to the monitor. I'm betting the PS3 defaults to 1080p when the HDMI cable is connected.
