May 26, 2013 · Before you can deploy VLSM you must be aware of the routing protocols that support VLSM! In short it is all routing protocols except for RIP-1 and IGRP (a precursor to EIGRP). An easy way to remember is that all these two protocols are outdated, and therefore it makes sense they do not support VLSM as networks were generally smaller in the past!
