    Clearly it doesn't necessarily mean that support for picture is also complete and great (and as of early 2016 it's probably still work in progress in many browsers). I would go out on a limb and say that Apple’s proposal is a good starting point. “Here’s a fallback image for browsers that don’t support srcset, now heres the source set of images, and their associated breakpoints/device res” essentially a condensed version of the proposed element (maybe I am missing something).
