Apr 01, 2013 · GD is a part of the install and I also played around with installing gd-devel, but still no change on the phpinfo display. The live site is using GD when members upload images to the gallery so even though it shows --without-gd on the phpinfo, it appears to be working. Still, there are certain functions that are not.

I (being the only maintainer currently) have almost no free time to invest anymore in maintenance and development, so fixing this in the CAPTCHA module is pretty unlikely in the short term.
