Dec 05, 2014 · I found a weird quirk with my 2560x1440 monitor when I use the dual-link DVI cable - I can't support triple-screens (putting one or both of the secondary 1920x1200 monitors on active single-link displayport to DVI adapters or HDMI).

The DVI cable is a dual-link DVI cable that came with the monitor, so I believe it should support the 2560x1440 resolution. The monitor is a DGM IPS-2701WPH (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-dgm-ips-2701wph-pro-led-ips-monitor-hdmi-displayport-dvi-dvi-vga-2560x1440-350cd-m2-80k1-6ms-vesa)

I am considering one of two laptops: An Asus UX31a-DH51 (1920x1080, Intel HD Graphics 4000, micro-HDMI) and an Asus N56VJ-DH71 (NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M, HDMI).

Jan 07, 2016 · The monitor came with 3 video cables: 1) HDMI to HDMI, 2) DVI to DVI, and 3) hybrid HDMI with Thunderbolt adapter. The S27D850 is awesome and capable of 2560x1440 with correct video cabling. Only the DVI cable with Apple DVI adapter did not yield high resolution; I think the max was like 1080p (1920x1080)
