May 31, 2007 · The version of the PCRE library which is bundled with PHP add-on is 6.7 . But in your case 5.0 version of the library is used and that I think, is compiled without UTF-8 support.

Nov 15, 2006 · Just beacuse pcretest -C said UTF-8 support was compiled in didn't necessarily mean that Apache was looking at the same library (per se). Good luck to any of the rest of you still struggling to get a UTF-8-enabled PCRE library to get picked up by apache/libphp - it really shouldn't be this hard!
