Apr 08, 2015 · I could only find people stating that parted does not support ext4 but does it for fat32, ext2, hfs,reiserfs. However,I also found scripts where parted is used to create ext4 filesystem through parted's mkpart command, for instance: parted -a none /dev/sdb1 mkpart primary ext4 0 1024 . May 06, 2017 · EFI GUID Partition support works on both 32bit and 64bit platforms. You must include GPT support in the kernel to use GPT. If you don’t add GPT support in Linux kernel, after rebooting the server, the file system will no longer be mountable, or the GPT table will get corrupted.

Jul 19, 2015 · NOTE: Other partitioning tables exist, but parted does not support all of them. To configure a flag on a partition, the parted command is "parted set PARTITION# FLAG ON/OFF". Use this command with Root privileges. For example, to set partition 3 as the boot partition, the command would be "parted set 3 boot on". The flag name is case-sensitive.
