May 20, 2010 · Recently I heard that Oracle 10g (we are currently using 10gR2 and 10gAS) will be end-of-life in 2010. Is this true ? If not then when and how the support will be handled after the product is end-of-life ?

Direct upgrade to Oracle 10g is only supported if your database is running one of the following releases: 8.0.6, 8.1.7, 9.0.1, or 9.2.0. If not, you will have to upgrade the database to one of these releases or use a different upgrade option (like export/ import).

Jun 26, 2013 · Speculation aside, the question remains: When do I have to leave Oracle 11g behind? Oracle 11g EOL. From what I’ve seen, there are still plenty of people on Oracle 10g. It’s not officially supported by Oracle Premier Support anymore, and a small handful have purchased the Extended Support option for it.

Apr 04, 2017 · Updated 08-2017. In brief, if you use a Oracle Database 11gR2 with latest patchset (11.2.0.4) you have support and bug fixing with no additional cost until December 31 of 2018.. With some more details, Oracle have changed the End of Life (end of bug patching) and Extended Support (bug patching for customers ho pays an extra cost on support fees) for Oracle 11gR2 patch 11.2.0.4.

The position is now that Oracle 11g EOL date is 2020 (was JUL 2018). This means less pressure to move to Oracle 12c, but we also have reviewed the minor version of Oracle 11g and the position is that if databases do not move to Oracle 12c by mid 2018, they need to move to the highest minor version of 11g which is 11.2.0.4.

9.2.0.8 is the terminal release of 9i version of oracle. And 9i will be desupported Jul 2007. Thats the date when premier support ends. Meaning no bug fixes after that. But you have an option to buy extended support. And that goes till Jul 2010. The curent version is 10g R2 (10.2.0.2). And premier support for 10g R2 support will last till Jul 2010.

Oracle released the major version upgrade of Database 12c in July 2013, which also triggered the 11g version end-of-life support cycle. The 11g support clock is ticking, with the first step of Extended Support starting Jan 2015 (in order to get Extended Support you will have to be on Oracle Database 11.2.0.4, the terminal patch set).
