Apr 13, 2009 · Can you move up to Oracle 11g? 10.2 uses Verity filters for text extraction, making it the red-headed stepchild of document format support. 11g returns to Outside In technology (now owned by Oracle) -- which supports some OpenOffice formats (although isn't .ODF the format for Math docs?) If 11g chokes on .ODF, at least you have one company to talk to.

I have problem with installing Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows Server 2012 R2. We are running old 10.2.0.4 instance on Windows Server 2008 R2. Now I have to migrate it to the Windows Server 2012 R2. Because the application using the db is old and without support, it is very risky to migrate the db to 11g or 12c.

10g Release 2 is shipped with asynchronous I/O support enabled. This means that 10g Release 2 does not need to be relinked.
