Android officially supports native applications built using {LEX(pagename="C")}C or C++{LEX}. Unfortunately the C++ for Android is currently too sparse for Ogre to be ported using the official development kit (called the NDK). The most serious feature missing the exception support.

Dec 18, 2019 · So, while it is theoretically possible to make Ogre 2.1+ work with GLES3 and thus with Android, it is not actively maintained and the last time we tried, the amount of driver bugs in Android was HORRENDOUS (driver crashes, deadlocks inside the driver, incorrect rendering). Thus we're hoping with Vulkan this time we'll have better luck with Android.
OGRE supports Windows (all major versions), Linux, OSX, Android, iOS, Javascript (via EMScripten), Windows Phone (Sponsored by Microsoft) and WinRT. Furthermore OGRE was ported to PS3 and Xbox360 for several titles.

Jul 20, 2017 · Resource prepare() when OGRE_THREAD_SUPPORT=3 is 'deferred' rather than 'threaded'. That is, we make all changes to Resource in the main render thread, and simply push a request on to WorkQueue to read / optionally pre-process the data in a thread. This thread cannot access any of Ogre in a threadsafe manner, it can only use software structures.

Currently Ogre 2.1 does not run on Android. A GLES 2 & GLES 3 port is planned. Currently Ogre 2.1 does run in Mac OS X / macOS using either Metal or OpenGL. The OpenGL RenderSystem may experience performance problems, very long shader compilation stutter issues, missing functionality (such as Compute), or even glitches.
