There's not much left of oculus' talk about "openness". Oculus has "partnered" with Microsoft and dropped support for Linux and Mac OS X. Since then, Microsoft, nvidia, AMD and oculus have been busy creating VR support for windows only, fully locked down with NDAs and stuff. If you want VR, forget anything but windows for maybe one or two years.
