Nov 27, 2013 · i use Pentinum 4 dual-core (both have 2.6 GHz of power), Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 card (256MB of VRAM), and 2 GB of RAM running on WIndows XP i still experience awful framerate preformance even on Very Low settings, and i kind of recall seeing somewhere that Oblivion doesnt support multi-core processors, so im assuming thats the issue

Before you make any change, make a copy of your Oblivion.ini and your latest game save files. Changes in the Oblivion.ini can corrupt game saves or prevent the game from starting.

Feb 15, 2010 · Unfortunately, Oblivion is natively a single-core application with very bad support for multiple cores. There is a mod for Oblivion called Oblivion Stutter Remover (there is a link to it in the website in my signature) which improves performance and tries to make Oblivion use multiple cores.
