Nov 23, 2016 · Currently, VDPAU does not seem to support HEVC Main10 at all even where the hardware should support it. (For example, `vdpauinfo` returns “--- not supported ---” on HEVC_MAIN_10 on a GTX 960) From what I understand, HEVC Main10 is supported via other hardware decoding APIs (e.g. d3d11va) on suitable hardware.

I assumed that affected all the cards eligible for the update, rather than a subset of them. Is it possible to offload part of a HEVC decode to CUDA on a Windows 7 ION, by hook or crook?

We next up looked to see whether the NVIDIA ION platform could handle gaming under Linux with the 180.60 proprietary driver. Sure enough, the GeForce 9400M could!

I am using an Asus Eee PC 1215N, 32-bit OS, Windows 10 TP, Intel Atom D525. The laptop has a NVIDIA ION GPU. I have been trying to install the drivers for it, but it keeps failing for some reason.
