Sep 19, 2011 · Upon reboot, I no longer had either mouse or keyboard support in Windows (Normal). I am using a PS2 keyboard and a USB mouse (although I have also tried a PS2 mouse). I am able to still use the keyboard at POST to enter Windows Boot Menu and then Safe Mode but have no keyboard or mouse support in Safe Mode.

Apr 25, 2013 · No response from Keyboard/Mouse after Windows 8 boots up I bought a Sony Vaio E-Series SVE17812BCXB running Windows 8. After the last major windows update that occurred in February'13, the keyboard/mouse stop responding once the fully loaded splash screen is presented (With the time and date, etc ).

Initially, XP wasn't booting saying that the hard disk may be full. However, after a safe mode boot and then back to a normal Windows boot it progressed on to a CHKDSK saying the hard disk was dirty. After three operations it rebooted and Windows XP Loaded. Unfortunately the USB mouse and keyboard won't respond.
