Dec 17, 2015 · Cheaper hardware does not use 5Ghz support. As a cheaper device, the 640 does not support 5Ghz WiFi. I still have lots of inexpensive devices that only use WiFi radios that are 2.4Ghz to keep costs down. As a result, no one should be solely relying on 5Ghz networks just yet.
