Apr 16, 2019 · The 3DS & Wii U automatically download system updates, if the system version is relatively recent, & they usually send out a spotpass ping when they're ready to be installed, triggering the blue LED lamp, so I figured the Switch's update process worked similarly. I have since updated my Switch successfully. Thanks, Nintendo.
