As far as I can tell, the problem you are running into is a matter of whether or not the device(s) you are connecting to the switch, can support NIC teaming, and what form that teaming will take - the term NIC teaming is a 'catch all' which some manufacturers use to describe LAG or aggregation and others use to describe redundant connections.
