Note that the netBook's sa1100 cpu will only support 16-bit PCMCIA (aka PC Card), and will NOT support 32-bit PCMCIA (aka Cardbus) cards. The utility/daemon "cardmgr" generally handles the configuration and set up of the PCMCIA cards on its own; usually little configuration (e.g., modules) is needed to get a working card to work.

Dec 19, 2014 · 16 bit PCMCIA especially 5V has been discontinued for OVER 10 years now. No vendors at all currently make models with PCMCIA. Cardbus 32 and Express card only support 3.3V devices and this bus is also gone. There are no current vendors anywhere in the world that make new cardbus or express card laptops as this has been abandoned by everyone.
