Hibernate gets updated often with important updates. While it may be difficult to keep up with them, 2007 is unreasonably old. Currently Hibernate is on 3.6.8 and 4.0.0 is just about to be released. I think Hibernate 4.0.0 release will come out before Netbeans 7.1. Please update Netbeans support to Hibernate 4.0.0 (or 3.6.8 at the very least).
