Sep 29, 2007 · If yours supports hardware buffering, it should state Hardware buffer after a few tests of Software buffer. Unfortunately, after the software buffer tests, my Dxdiag simply shows that my sound card does not support hardware buffering and closes the test.

Sep 20, 2006 · I cant hear rear sound anywhere though I have configured 4 speakers every where. But only at dxdiag wizard when i am clicking at TestDirectSound then sound is coming at all rear and front speakers. And after that the msg below is appeared. "your sound card does not support hardware buffering. Sounds will only play back from software buffers."

Jan 04, 2013 · My sound is buffering and sounds distorted. How can I fix this? I turned on my computer and got on Youtube to listen to some music but when it started playing outloud the sound was distorted and it sounded like it was buffering, but the video wasnt.

Apr 24, 2010 · I restarted it and then I couldn't hear any sound from my laptop. I can hear sound only on my headphones, but it is distorted and very bad.(and only from the left side) There is a button on my laptop and if i press "mute", then there is icon on the right side near the clock and it still shows that the sound is not muted.

I've found the problem. start>run>dxdiag. click the sound tab, and do a test. I got the same error, and when I ran this test, it told me my card does not support hardware buffering of sound, just software. This would explain a lot on the 'secondary sound buffer' part.
