Nov 17, 2011 · The "higher quality" MP4 would just play the audio only.-Then, thinking maybe the built-in MP4 demuxer/splitter doesn't have enough support, I downloaded and installed LAV Splitters (v0.39). To my dismay, now WMP11 wouldn't play any H.264 video at all!

And even though the latest Windows Media Player 12 supports MP4 video and audio files, it doesn't means that WMP 12 can play all MP4 files. As it turned out, Window Media Connect 2.0 doesn't not support MP4 files. I Sure, I didn’t mean to imply that I didn’t need WMP11, just that the remaining step to getting my Momento working wasn’t step 9 as Pugsly0014 suggested (2 replies back), just that I needed EnableRemoteContentSharing also.

In my quest to find a solution to stream movies from my VMC PC to my XBOX 360 dashboard, this was before the release of the fall update that added support of the DIVX codecs to playback AVI's and before I was able to Transcode successfully in real time using Transcode 360, one solution I discovered was to add file support in to WMP11 / VMC for MP4 files.

According to CodecInstaller, I have the following codecs installed: ATI MPEG Video Decoder,ATI Technologies, Inc.,9.12,c:\program files\common files\ati technologies\multimedia\atidvcr.dll
