Click on the Mozy Icon in the Upper Menu Bar and select Open MozyPro Preferences. Select the Files & Folders tab. Browse to the Network Share or NAS device you wish to back up. It will typically be found at the root level, with the Macintosh HD Volume.

The Mozy system backup and restore feature backups up the volumes locally to any Network Attached Storage (NAS) or Directly Attached Storage (DAS). These targets locations must be formatted either as NTFS or ReFS. You can backup to a NAS or network share that has a file system supported by Server Message Block (SMB).

You're right, with the Linux client you could run the NAS device as a standalone but this is not officially support by Mozy. If you've all the required dependencies, click here for the list, you can get it working.
