    I’m looking into moving a support post in my basement from the finished area into the adjacent mechanical room. I’ve had two contractors look at it. The first looked at it and said we can move it no problem. The second at least took at a tape measure and said it’s fine as long as the support post is at least 10ft from the outside wall.
