May 09, 2007 · Microsoft for a long time has been pushing people to download and install Service Pack 2 for windows XP cause it patches up a lots of Security Holes and Bugs. I seriously doubt, that microsoft will support Silverlight on Windows XP without SP2.

AFAIK, Windows XP is not a supported OS for SQL Server 2012. I don't believe XP is on the test matrix so even if you were able to install and make it work, we have no way of knowing whether all of it works or if it is working correctly. We just didn't test it for that OS.
