This is an exclusive VB.NET feature known as XML Literals.It was added in VB 9.0. C# does not currently support this feature. Although Microsoft has stated its intent to bridge the gap between the languages in the future, it's not clear whether this feature will make it to C# any time soon.. Your example doesn't seem clear to me.

Aug 28, 2007 · I remember feeling a little strange about XML literal support when they first rolled it out at PDC '05- I'm fine that they didn't try to stuff this into C#. I'm spending my life in C# 3.0 at the moment, so I haven't tried out the VB9 stuff "for real" (beyond playing with the PDC bits).

I don't think there is an easy way. XElement.Load (or XDocument.Load) can read a well-formed XML document. The XML literals with embedded expressions are not well-formed XML and are not processed using XElement.Load or XDocument.Load, instead they are compiled by the VB.NET compiler into calls to the LINQ to XML API (like New XElement("foo", "bar")).
