A connected Device, cell phone, laptop, Smart TV, can have a VPN connection that goes thru the Node router and be protected by the VPN IP address. Well, that wasn't the most helpful of replies!! If kattlepraud you are asking whether you can use OpenVPN or similar to access your home network while using your Velop as your main router then the answer is no.. Sadly, the Velop is a poor system with only limited functionality. And what functionality it does have many of us find unreliable.

As for the which VPN router will be best Asus makes a very good VPN router, but you will pay for it. Netgear and Linksys make good ones as well so to me I would choose the one that will fit you price range and network. Just remember when it talks about how many devices it is referring to number of WIFI devices the router is designed to handle.

Does Velop Nodes support VPN? The answer is NO. However, Velop is a Great System. We use a single Velop Node connected to our Linksys Modem by an Ethernet cable as our Router. The Node address is 192.168.1.1 and this masks our incoming Cable IP AddresS. The Modem is connected to our Cable Company Incoming cable.
