Dec 16, 2009 · I am wondering about multi-core (as opposed to mult-thread) support in Java. I have a project right now with two threads, the main UI thread and the backend thread. The UI thread is constantly rendering about 500 elements which move around to the screen. The backend thread is performing a number of calculations.

These updates like 1.13 are taking a toll on Java. So I think that multi core support should be added to meet demand. When Minecraft adds more and more features it will eventually become unplayable. Try modded Minecraft for instance. There is A LOT of stuttering and lag because Java cannot handle this on only 1 core!

Jul 28, 2012 · Minecraft is a very CPU intensive game but currently Minecraft will only use a single core of your processor, whether you have a 6-Core I7 Extreme or a single core AMD sempron. This is a complete waste of resources and support should be implemented to balance the load on computers (Especially Laptops).
